About Me

Learn more about me

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Rice University in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University. I am working under the guidance of Dr. Edward Knightly, as a member of the Rice Networks Group.

I received my Ph.D. and MS. in Electrical Engineering from Rice University in 2016 and 2013 respectively, and received my B.S. in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Telecommunications from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) in 2009.

One of my great passions in life has always been dance, more specifically: ballet, I started doing it since I was 3 years old. When I turned 11, I  proceeded to do it professionally, studying at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C. After, I continued my dance career in Monterrey at the Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza (ESMD, INBA). Thanks to this profession I was able to live and dance in different parts of the world, with the additional opportunity to understand, adapt and value traditions and customs of different cultures. Additionally, my professional ballet career helped me develop strong qualities such as determination, persistence and eagerness to always be improving.
Even though I stopped doing ballet as a profession, I always try to keep dance as part of my life. During my Ph.D. I was part of the Rice Dance Theater, Rice University’s Contemporary Dance Company. And previously I was part of ITESM’s Contemporary Dance Company.
